Bug's 3rd B'day

On Sunday we celebrated Bug's 3rd Birthday. It was his first real party and he was soooo excited. He had been waiting for weeks for it.

The run up to the party had us all on pins and needles. It had been raining all week and different websites had different forecasts for the big sunday. The party was scheduled to be at our favorite b'day park. If it rained we would have to do it at the house ... yikes. Something I did not want. Lucky for us the weather cleared up and it was a beautiful day. Sunny and cool, perfect for kids running around.

We hired a girl as an entertainer, Lizzie and she was adorable and did a great job keeping the kids busy, not that you really need that at the park, but it was nice having her. She also did "face" painting (really mostly on the kids arms) with a stamp, a quick and efficient way to get everyone marked :).

Dan's birthday is the same day as Bug's, so we had a birthday party for him Saturday night. It was supposed to be mellow. We were going to make pizza for a few people at the house. Unfortunately the oven didnt work, so we ended up starving everyone untill about 10 when Jeri forced me to order a pizza from Pizza Moon, I love them, they rushed us two large pizza's.

For Bug's party we make peanut and jelly sandwhiches for the kids and ordered a 6 foot sub from a local gourmet italian deli. We also provided the gratuitous costco fruit plate, chips, salsa etc. It wasnt the spread I would have liked, but 2 parties in 24 hours tends to do that to you. Everyone else had a good time and didnt notice the lack of food.

oh ... he loved his presents.
